- 1. Summary of the Family Education Inquiry Helpline:
Many would feel helpless when they encounter low ebbs in life, loneliness, lack of support, and other changes in their familial roles. People in the modern society are in dire need of learning how to be a better director over their own lives. Is there anyone who can help us when we encounter difficulties or helpless situations? Is there anyone who can accompany me through heartbreaking situations? The Hsinchu City Family Education Center is your friend who will walk you through both sad and happy times. As more and more people seek our assistance, we have therefore established the Inquiry Helpline 412-8185. We have nearly a hundred professional volunteers committed in helping you through marital, familial, and parent-child problems. If you think that a phone call is not enough to express your problems, we also provide face-to-face counseling where you can speak your mind and experience the close-knit and harmonious environment that we offer. “Happiness grows when it is shared. Sorrow dwindles when it is brought to the light.” We believe that the professional resources we offer can help solve your problems.
(1) Familial relationships: Mothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, siblings, economic issues, and other relationship issues with family members.
(2) Marital problems: Communication and coordination between married partners, poor adjustment to married life, divorce, affairs, re-marriage, social problems, poor living habits, and conflicts of values.
(3) Parent-child problems: Child education, communication skills, poor relationship with children, learning difficulties of the children, poor lifestyle habits of the children, personality issues, emotional issues, and behavioral issues.
(4) Relationships between couples: Romantic relationships, communication, break ups, unrequited relationships, emotional choices, and social pressure.
(5) Self-adjustment issues: Emotional management, workplace EQ, lack of confidence, career planning, career choices, and work adjustments.
(6) Interpersonal relationships: Poor relationships, personality development issues, misunderstanding, and lack of confidence for interpersonal relationships.

Activities for promoting preventive measures
Hardworking people helped generate rapid growth of the economy to support many material amenities, yet their spiritual lifestyles have grown increasingly empty. While owning the latest technological devices and marvels, it is also important to appreciate the value and importance of life and family as well as emotional and spiritual fulfillment. The Family Education Center is working hard to fulfill its educational functions. Passionate volunteers are also committed to promoting various events and activities that encourage better-rounded developments of the society. At the same time, in order to uphold the Family Education Act and provide Hsinchu residents with lifelong learning opportunities, events and activities were held to help attendants appreciate the value and importance for life and family while nurturing and fulfilling their spirituality and mental health. The Family Education Center made use of school campuses and community centers for many years to provide various services to parents and community residents such as reading groups, happy family reading, empathy groups, volunteer training, parent-child education seminars, and gender education promotion programs. Volunteers in the Center are constantly developing new methods that correspond to the requirements of the public and age groups, and were designed to emphasize personal experiences instead of stereotypical class-based lectures to achieve the objectives of supporting education and development courses for senior citizens and new immigrant families as well as volunteer training, family counseling services, marital education, and pre-marital education for individuals, families, communities, and even schools. Additionally, significant efforts were invested to promote family volunteer training, parenting education seminars for the community, personal improvement training, matchmaking events, marital education, communication for married couples, and other group events with the goal of promoting family management principles while encouraging volunteers who share our views to contribute and support future development trends for family education.

(2) Children education: Educational programs that encourage children to fulfill their responsibilities.
(3) Gender education: Educational programs that promote gender knowledge.
(4) Marital education: Educational programs that improve relationships between husband and wife.
(5) Ethical education: Educational programs to encourage mutual respect and care between family members.
(6) Family resource and management education: Educational programs that improve family resource utilization and management.
(7) Inquiry and counseling services for priority targets of family education and services.
(8) Parent-child mother tongue education programs.
